LYP Premium and LINE Premium are membership programs that offer special services and benefits. Members can access exclusive features and benefits by paying a certain fee.

LYP Premium benefits — membership overview page (only in Japanese):
Joining LYP Premium will give you access to the following types of benefits.
• Unlimited use of over 15 million types of applicable stickers with LINE Stickers Premium
• Save and share videos and original quality photos in albums in the LINE app
• Use member-exclusive fonts in the LINE app
• Set your favorite songs as your ringtone/ringback tone in the LINE app
• Use member-exclusive frames to take unlimited photos and videos with a photo booth-like effect during voice and video calls in the LINE app
• Change the LINE app icon to various designs
• Set up separate profiles (with their own display names and profile images) in the LINE app
• Back up your chat history to a storage service provided by LINE
LYP Premium pricing/payment methods:
The price to join LYP Premium membership from the LINE app is JPY 650 per month. You can set up a subscription for LYP Premium through the App Store or Google Play. For details about making payments, please see the link below for the platform relevant to your device.

Joining LYP Premium:
Please check the following information before joining LYP Premium.

- Joining LYP Premium from the LINE app while you are already subscribed to and paying for LYP Premium via the web version with Yahoo! JAPAN Wallet payments (Yahoo!ウォレット決済) will result in duplicate subscriptions, which may lead to being charged more than once. Please check your Yahoo! JAPAN Wallet payment membership status for the LYP Premium web version.

- Your membership will automatically renew each month, and you will be charged the LYP Premium monthly plan fee until you cancel your membership.
- An LYP Premium membership cannot be used on multiple LINE accounts at the same time. With one LINE account, you can use one main device and one Apple ID/Google account each.
- If you previously joined LYP Premium but the LYP Premium field does not appear, please contact us via this Inquiry Form.
Follow the steps below to join LYP Premium with the latest version of LINE.
Note: If Open appears for LINE on the App Store or Google Play, it means you're using the latest version.
On your main device (typically your smartphone)
1. Open the LINE app.2. Tap the Home tab >

3. Tap Join LYP Premium/the start free trial button at the bottom of the screen.
4. Agree to the LYP Premium Terms and Conditions of Use.
5. Set up a subscription through the App Store or Google Play.
On your sub device (typically your tablet)
iPad
1. Open the LINE app.2. Tap Settings > LYP Premium > Discover LYP Premium.
3. Tap Join LYP Premium/the start free trial button at the bottom of the screen.
4. Agree to the LYP Premium Terms and Conditions of Use.
5. Set up a subscription through the App Store.
Android
1. Open the LINE app.2. Tap the Home tab >

If you've already joined LYP Premium using your Yahoo! JAPAN ID, link your LINE account to your Yahoo! JAPAN ID to access LYP Premium on LINE as well.
Using LYP Premium:

Important notes if you changed your LINE account's registered country/region:
If you change the registered country/region for your LINE account, your LYP Premium membership and data will be affected in the following ways.
Suspension of your LYP Premium membership
The LYP Premium membership linked to your current LINE account will be suspended, and you will lose access to all benefits. However, if you change your LINE account's registered country/region back to Japan again and are currently subscribed to LYP Premium through the App Store or Google Play Store, the suspension of your LYP Premium membership will automatically be lifted.
After the 30-day grace period following the suspension of your LYP Premium membership ends, the following changes will occur to your data for each benefit.
• Premium Backup: All of the chat history data backed up using Premium Backup will be deleted.
• Albums: Videos saved in albums will be deleted and original quality photos will be converted to standard quality.
• Subprofiles: Your subprofiles will be deleted, and your friends will see your main profile.
Note: During the grace period, if you join LYP Premium (or LINE Premium, an equivalent Premium membership offered by us), the above changes will not be applied.
Membership fee
Even if your LYP Premium membership is suspended, you will continue being charged for the membership fee. To stop paying the membership fee, you need to cancel your membership through the App Store or Google Play Store settings.
Regional differences in LYP Premium memberships
LYP Premium benefits and supported features may vary depending on the country or region where your LINE account is registered. If you change your account's registered country or region, be sure to check which benefits and features are available to you.

LINE Premium benefits:
Joining LINE Premium will give you access to the following types of benefits.

The LINE Premium membership fee is THB 169 per month. You can set up a subscription for LINE Premium through the App Store or Google Play. For details about making payments, please see the link below for the platform relevant to your device.

If you change the registered country/region for your LINE account, your LINE Premium membership and data will be affected in the following ways.
Suspension of your LINE Premium membership
The LINE Premium membership linked to your current LINE account will be suspended, and you will lose access to all benefits. However, if you change the registered country/region for your LINE account and are subscribed to LINE Premium (or LYP Premium, a Premium membership we deem equivalent) for that country/region through the App Store or Google Play Store, your membership will automatically activate in the LINE app for that country/region.
What happens to your data after the grace period
After the 30-day grace period following the suspension of your LINE Premium membership ends, the following changes will occur to your data for each benefit.
• Premium Backup: All of the chat history data backed up using Premium Backup will be deleted.
• Albums: Videos saved in albums will be deleted and original quality photos will be converted to standard quality.
• Subprofiles: Your subprofiles will be deleted, and your friends will see your main profile.

Canceling your LYP Premium/LINE Premium membership:
To cancel your LYP Premium/LINE Premium membership, see the following steps.

- You can check the renewal date for your LYP Premium/LINE Premium membership on the Membership info screen.
- Even if you have eligible days remaining for the relevant period when canceling your membership, you will not be refunded for those unused days.

On your main device (typically your smartphone)
1. Tap the Home tab >

2. Tap Cancel membership at the very bottom of the screen.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish canceling your membership.
On your sub device (typically your tablet)

1. Tap Settings >

If you joined LYP Premium/LINE Premium from the LINE app by subscribing with your Apple ID or Google Play account, you can also cancel your membership through Apple or Google.
If you're unable to cancel your membership using the steps above, please refer to the relevant section below.
Membership info doesn't appear in LYP Premium (Japan only):
You may have joined LYP Premium through Yahoo! JAPAN. Refer to the following Help article and try canceling your membership from Yahoo! JAPAN.

I want to cancel my LYP Premium membership (web version) that I'm paying for with Yahoo! JAPAN Wallet payments
The Cancel membership option doesn't appear in Membership info:
You may be logged in with a different Google account or Apple ID than the one you used to join your membership (e.g. if you have multiple Google accounts or Apple IDs). Be sure to log in to the correct Google account or Apple ID that was used to join the membership, and then try canceling your membership again.
I've canceled my membership, but I can still use it:
The membership end date appears under "Ends at" in Membership info. Even after canceling your membership, you can still use your LYP Premium/LINE Premium membership until that end date.
On the Yahoo! JAPAN page, there's no option to cancel/I can't cancel my membership (Japan only):

Even if you uninstall LINE or change devices, you can transfer your LINE account and keep the benefits and information of your LYP Premium/LINE Premium membership.

Premium Backup lets you back up your chat history in real time, including photos and videos, to 100 GB of storage provided by LINE. It is only available to LYP Premium (Japan) and LINE Premium (Thailand) members.
Moreover, using Premium Backup allows you to transfer more than the last 14 days of chat history (including text messages), even when transferring your LINE account between devices with different operating systems (e.g. Android to iOS, iOS to Android).

Data that can be backed up:
The following data (excluding LINE VOOM and OpenChat data) shared in chats can be backed up.
• Text messages
• Photos
• Videos
• Files
• Voice messages

- Photos, videos, files, and voice messages that expired before using Premium Backup may not be backed up.
- Some photos, videos, files, and voice messages shared before using Premium Backup may not be backed up.
- Your chat history is backed up in real-time, so if you delete a chat, it will not be saved in your chat history and cannot be restored.
- If you don't open LINE for 14 days or more, chat history stored on the LINE server that expired within that time frame is also backed up.
Note: To check the chat history for this period, you need to restore it with a method detailed in Restoring your backed up chat history. The chat history for that period will also be restored when restoring chat history in scenarios such as changing devices.
Backing up your chat history:
To use Premium Backup, please first make an initial backup. When the initial backup is complete, subsequent chat history will be backed up automatically.
Note: You cannot stop Premium Backup after you begin using it.

- If you back up your chat history with an external recovery tool during the initial backup, data may be lost. If you're using an external recovery tool, make sure you back up your chat history using the tool after the initial backup is complete.
To make an initial backup:
1. Tap the Home tab > > Chat history backup under Backup and transfer.
2. Tap Back up now.
3. Check the pop-up that appears, then tap Agree (only on the initial backup).
4. Enter your password and check the important notes about passwords, then tap Continue.
5. After the backup finishes, tap OK.

About your password
After the initial backup finishes, you'll receive a completion message from the LYP Premium (LYPプレミアム) official account (Japan)/LINE Premium (LINE พรีเมียม) official account (Thailand). The time it takes to complete the initial backup varies depending on your network connection and the amount of data to upload. If you use Wi-Fi and leave the initial backup screen open, it can complete faster.
If you close the initial backup screen while using the LINE app, the backup will continue.
Note: Depending on your device, the backup may be performed in the background even if you're not using the LINE app.

Restoring your backed up chat history:
You can restore your backed up chat history if your device is damaged or you change models. Please refer to the information below.

Note: When the initial backup finishes, a dedicated screen for Premium Backup will appear. Make sure to transfer your account after checking that the following screen is shown.

If you're transferring your LINE account

- If you transfer your account with an Apple ID or Google account and don't enter the password registered to your LINE account when logging into it, you will not be able to receive Premium Backup services. If you reset your password while transferring your LINE account, your Premium Backup will be deleted. For this reason, please take care in managing your password.
If you're transferring your LINE account with a phone number or QR code:
Tap Restore chat history on the “Restore chat history” screen.
If you're transferring your LINE account with an Apple ID or Google account:
On the “Enter your LINE password” screen, enter your password and tap Continue > Restore chat history.

After you finish transferring your LINE account, update the LINE app, then follow the steps in the “If you skipped restoring your backup while transferring your LINE account” section below.
If you skipped restoring your backup while transferring your LINE account
1. Tap the Home tab >
2. Tap Restore.
3. Tap Restore.
Managing your storage:
If your stored data reaches 100 GB, new media (photos, videos, files, and voice messages) in your chat history will stop being backed up.
Delete unneeded data on the Manage storage screen to free up space.
Note: Be aware that deleted data cannot be restored.
Once you've freed up storage space, backups will automatically start again.

- Any media shared in chats seven days or more prior with your stored data exceeding 100 GB cannot be backed up even after you free up space.
